5 Local Spots to Eat

Posted on March 15, 2019

Here at the Spencer County Visitors Bureau, we are sometimes asked the question, “Where is a local, off-the-beaten-path, place to eat?"

There’s a lot to do in our neck of the woods. From exploring the 2,026-acre state park honoring President Lincoln to soaring through the air at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. Taste some local flavor to help re-build your energy.

Here are some of the best local food spots you just can’t miss:

New Boston Tavern is located near Troy, Indiana. This small-town home cooking will leave a lasting impression. The classic cooking methods and great service are worth visiting again and again.

Frosty’s Fun Center is located in Santa Claus, Indiana, just minutes from Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. This restaurant offers freshly baked pizza, snacks, sandwiches, ice cream, and more!

Angelo's Pizza is located in Rockport, Indiana. This cozy restaurant is a great place to spend time with friends and family and enjoy a good meal. The famous breadsticks with cheese are sought out near and far.

The Rustic Golf Course & Country Club features good home cooking and a great atmosphere. This restaurant is open daily from 5:00 am – 9:00 pm CT.

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari added tons of new food options at Santa's Merry Marketplace like American Grill, Pizza & Pasta, Asian Cuisine, Polar Expresso, and much more.

America’s small towns are home to some serious culinary wonders. And who knows - maybe you’ll fall in love with the towns themselves over a giant plate of something unforgettable.

There are lots of places to treat your taste buds throughout the area. In fact, it will take several times to try them all!
