2. Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire at Santa’s Candy Castle. If your only familiarity with chestnuts comes from the classic Christmas song, you’ll want to pull up a seat by the fire! On Saturday evenings during the season, the owner of Santa’s Candy Castle delights guests with the fascinating story of one of the oldest Christmas traditions. Not only do you get to hear the story, you get to see a demonstration of the chestnuts being prepared and roasted (with a few guests being given the option to help!). Best of all—everyone gets a taste and the event is free to attend!

3. Santa Claus Land of Lights at Sun Outdoors Lake Rudolph. Everyone loves Christmas lights… especially when they tell a story! The Santa Claus Land of Lights brings the story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to brilliant life at Lake Rudolph during the holidays. From the comfort of your car, tune your radio to some festive tunes and enjoy a 1.2-mile drive through colorful LED light scenes.

4. Santa Claus Christmas Parade. The second Saturday of December has lots of events on the schedule, but the one that keeps Christmas lovers coming back year after year is the annual Santa Claus Christmas Parade. Bundle up, find a prime spot for viewing, and then watch the festiveness roll right by!
PARADE HACK: That prime viewing spot? Park at the Santa Claus Community Center and take a short walk over to Patricia Koch Drive. Bring some chairs and blankets to make yourself comfy!

5. Everything Happening at the Santa Claus Museum & Village. At the Santa Claus Museum & Village, the event calendar is especially packed… and it’s all free! The Story of Santa Claus presented by storyteller Susan Fowler is an annual favorite. Fun kids activities include a balloon twisting demonstration, a scavenger hunt, and even the chance to meet a bearded dragon (yes, really!). A petting zoo, a harp performance, The Santa Claus Singers, and more round out the slate of Christmas events.
