We’d normally use the intro of this post to list five to ten reasons why you need to take some time off and treat yourself (and the fam, of course!) to a relaxing getaway. But we figured none of them would be new to you, and you could probably add to the list.
So we’ll spare you the “why” and just jump to the where, what, and how to enjoy what we like to call, a "relaxification."
These charming, fully furnished cottages come with everything you need to help you relax: covered patios with comfy patio furniture, private fire pits, charcoal grills, satellite TV, WiFi, and our personal favorite amenity—bona fide tree-hanging hammocks! Each of the cottages are neatly situated alongside either Lake Jolly, the Elf Pond, or Lake Tannenbaum, where guests are welcome to throw a line or two and fish their stresses away. Fishing, not your thing? Just float around in the property pool!
Located inside the very peaceful, secluded Lincoln State Park, you can de-stress on the beach at Lake Lincoln. Whether you're just soaking up the sunshine, swimming, fishing, or paddling out in a rented canoe, kayak, or paddle boat, you’ll watch your worries float away.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised how relaxing it can be to ride through the quaint, wooded trails at Santa’s Stables. The horses walk safely and smoothly nose to tail as you admire the beautiful, rural surroundings.
Visit one (or both!) of our two local wineries: Monkey Hollow Winery and Distillery and Pepper’s Ridge Winery. At both locations, you’ll enjoy complimentary wine tasting, beautiful countryside views, and downhome hospitality---the perfect stress-busting medley.
There’s nothing like taking an inner tube ride (or two, or three,..) around the Bahari River at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. There are waterfalls, currents, and fun scenery along the way.
