Capturing the Past

It has been a very exciting week at the Lincoln Boyhood! In the last week, we have had not one, but two film crews on the scene at our living historical farm. The one that we were most closely involved with was the crew of “‘I Remember the Old Home Very Well: The Lincolns in Kentucky.” Even though we are not located in Kentucky, the director of the film decided that the beautiful southern Indiana scenery fit his purposes very well. Also, not only did they use our scenery, but they used some very special rangers, volunteers, and even gave the animals a chance to be in the spotlight! While you are watching, make sure to keep your eyes open for these special guests!
The film itself covers a great expanse of early Lincoln history. It begins with the history of Captain Abraham and young Thomas Lincoln, the grandfather and father of the president. It then moves to cover the wedding of Thomas and Nancy Hanks, the birth of their children, and leading up to the move to Indiana.

The excitement made it a very fun day for all who got to participate!
