Gentryville

History is in the Name

The town of Gentryville is named for James Gentry, an early settler. But the highlight of the area is the Colonel Jones Home, the restored 1834 home of Abraham Lincoln’s merchant employer, and open for tours. The Colonel Jones Home is operated by Lincoln State Park; call (812) 937-1979 to arrange a tour of this historic property.
