The Colonel Jones Home is a carefully restored 1834 Federal-design home of Abraham Lincoln's merchant employer. The home offers a look at the early development of Indiana and the life of Colonel William Jones. Visitors can schedule guided tours, themed talks, exhibits, and gifts. This state historic site is situated on 100 acres of forest. Also, there is a picnic area, and a restored log barn. Colonel Jones Home is located one mile west of U.S. 231 on Boone Street in Gentryville. The home is just a few miles from Lincoln State Park. Lincoln State Park operates this site.
