Visit one of only two archabbeys in the U.S. when you’re in St. Meinrad. Saint Meinrad Archabbey is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1854 by monks from Einsiedeln Abbey in Switzerland. As home to 80+ monks who live, work, and pray there, the Archabbey offers self-guided and monk-led tours of the grounds. The Archabbey hosts art exhibits, musical performances, and various retreats throughout the year. Guests can enjoy a round of disc golf on site and browse inspirational items at Saint Meinrad Books and Gifts at Saint Meinrad Archabbey.
Swing by Monkey Hollow Winery and Distillery, just outside of St. Meinrad, to sip on local wines and spirits.
Each fall, the annual St. Meinrad Volunteer Fire Department's Fire and Farm Expo takes place at the St. Meinrad Community Center and Park.
