Burger Bliss

Posted on May 25, 2021

“At the base level, a burger is a piece of meat and a bun with something on it. It’s simple but it seems to make a lot of people happy.” —Danny Meyer, restauranteur
There’s no single food that is universally loved. But the hamburger comes pretty close! And whether you like yours dressed up or down (and with or without fries)there are plenty of spots throughout the area serving up burgers that delight hungry visitors of all ages.

This Way to Burger Bliss

Back 9 Grill – Located at Christmas Lake Golf Club, the Back 9 Bistro is the perfect spot to indulge in a post-round treat. Try the appropriately named Birdie Burger—it's topped with bacon and a fried egg!
Darlena’s Lincolnland Restaurant – Darlena’s is known for hearty home-cooked meals. And it doesn’t get heartier or more satisfying than one of their third-pound burgers! Hamburger with cheese and bacons on a flat grill Fat Daddy’s Grill & Chill – When a restaurant has “grill” in its name, you know the burgers are gonna be good. Those with a big appetite should order the Porky Pigit’s a burger piled high with BBQ pork, bacon, and cheese!
New Boston Tavern – How hungry are you? New Boston Tavern has single, double, quarter-pound, and third-pound options. Of course, if you don’t feel like a burger (it does occasionally happen!), make sure you try their thick, juicy pork chop!
River City Brew Works  The burger comes dressed to your liking. But the real fun comes in choosing which craft brew to pair with it!
Scoops Ice Cream – Swing through the drive-in at Scoops for a hot, fresh-off-the-grill burger… and don’t forget a frosty treat for dessert!
The Chateau – Burger lovers should come hungry to tackle the Chateau Burger. It’s a half-pound hunk of ground beef topped with both American and Swiss cheeses and finished off with bacon.
The Rustic  French fries may be the traditional side dish for burgers. But The Rustic’s made-to-order burgers go great with the restaurant’s homemade potato chips!

After tackling the beefy beauties at these local restaurants, we can’t imagine you’ll still be hungry. But you’re on vacation! So, if you feel like (over)indulging, here’s where to go for the area’s sweetest treats!
