The Ultimate Family Fun Weekend
Posted on May 11, 2018
Isn't it great when the stars align and everything magically falls into place? Sometimes things just work out perfectly. The weekend of May 19 - 20, is one of those scenarios.
Multiple events, recently opened attractions, and beautiful spring weather create the perfect combination for a weekend packed full of exciting things to do.
*Update May 18, 2018*
- Rumours: A Fleetwood Mac Tribute concert is sold out!
- The Lincoln Land Done Fest will be rescheduled due to rain. No event on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
The Ultimate Family Fun Weekend:
Saturday, May 19
Start your day in Santa Claus at the
Lincoln Land Drone Fest. The fest is appropriate for all ages, and it's free to attend! Look forward to hands-on experiences and demos with industry professionals. Test your skills at the golf ball drop competition. Then, sit back and watch the pros compete in the Santa Claus Cup Drone Race. FPV (First Person View) monitors, a new addition this year, will allow spectators to watch the drone race from the pilot's point of view.
Enjoy lunch at Frosty's Fun Center or St. Nick's Restaurant. Both themed restaurants are charming, locally owned businesses. We love the specialty pizzas at Frosty's Fun Center and the variety on the buffet at St. Nick's Restaurant. Find all
local dining options here.
Satisfy your sweet tooth at
Santa's Candy Castle. The frozen hot chocolate is a must! This is a great place to pick up souvenirs and gifts, too.
Visit the
Santa Claus Museum & Village to learn about the town history, write a letter to Santa Claus, and take a family photo in front of the famed historic Santa statue.
Hit the trails at
Santa's Stables. Trail guides are experienced and friendly, so first-time riders are as welcome as experts.
Spend the evening grooving to Fleetwood Mac hits at Lincoln Amphitheatre!
Rumours: A Fleetwood Mac Tribute opens the 2018 performance series.
Whew, what a day!
Get a good night's rest, tomorrow is going to be just as fun.
Sunday, May 20
Begin your day in Rockport with
breakfast at the The Rustic. The outdoor seating area at this restaurant makes it a local favorite.
Visit the Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum's annual
Spring Heritage Days Rendezvous.
The event is as fun as it is educational. An encampment and costumed reenactors bring history alive through interactive demonstrations including weaving, carving, and spinning wool. Activities like candle dipping will keep the kiddos engaged the whole time.
After a busy weekend, relax at
Pepper's Ridge Winery. Samples are complimentary, and the rustic country setting is the perfect place to unwind.
