Give the Cake a Break

If there is any cake worthy of having its own day, it’s the fruitcake (even if it is just to make up for all the derogatory remarks that get made about it).

No matter what you may think about the decadent brick of dried fruits, nuts, and sugar, it has been around long enough to earn its day.  As far back as the ancient Romans, there have been variations of fruitcake and no two recipes are alike.  Every nationality seems to have its own version. Surely there is one out there you would like.
