Festive Town of Santa Claus on Travel Channel

Posted on December 8, 2014

The Travel Channel will feature the famous Christmassy town of Santa Claus, Indiana, on back-to-back episodes of "Christmastown, USA" and "More Christmastown, USA" on Sunday, December 14, 2014.

A film crew visited the town of Santa Claus earlier this year to capture Christmas-themed attractions and interview local business owners and residents. Locations filmed include: Santa Claus Museum & Village, Santa Claus Christmas Store, Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort, Santa Claus Post Office, Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, and more.

"For our town to be named on Travel Channel's list of best holiday attractions for 2014 and then to be part of these two specials airing during the holidays is simply incredible," says Melissa Brockman, executive director of the Spencer County Visitors Bureau. "Spreading holiday cheer is just one of the ways the town of Santa Claus shines throughout the year."

The "Christmastown, USA" special airs Sunday, December 14, at 6 p.m. CST, followed by the second special, "More Christmastown, USA," at 6:30 p.m. CST. The Travel Channel is available in nearly 96 million U.S. households.

America's Christmas Hometown: Santa Claus, Indiana, hosts a celebration of family fun on the first three weekends of December. Events include: a traditional Christmas Dinner with Santa, Santa Claus Land of Lights, Santa Claus Arts & Crafts Show, Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, and other festive events.
