Valentine's Day Guide

Posted on January 15, 2015

With Valentine’s Day only one month away, we (Melissa, Julie, and Amanda – your friendly Visitors Bureau staff and lovers of blogs that involve food) thought we would share how to enjoy this holiday whether you’re blissfully married or happily single. Things To Do M: My two-year-old Valentine loves to go for a walk at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. When the weather cooperates, he gets to go without the stroller and pick up all sorts of fascinating finds along the way. J: A trip to local wineries tasting new wines and enjoying old favorites is a great way to spend the afternoon. A: If it’s not too frigid, I’ll start my day with a run through Lincoln State Park. The scenic views are all you really need. Things To Buy M: This momma loves receiving a fresh bouquet of flowers from Evergreen Boutique; tulips are my favorite (*hint hint* to remind my hubby!). J: Pick up a bottle of wine from Pepper’s Ridge for quiet night at home. A: It’s okay to treat yourself to something you really, really want every once in a while. Any jewelry from Evergreen Boutique is worthy of that indulgence.  Please, if I have any secret admirers out there, take note. Things To Eat M: My valentines and I are always looking for a reason to enjoy an order of breadsticks from Angelo’s in Rockport… sometimes that reason is simply that we woke up! Valentine’s Day is a great reason to enjoy something you love with those you love. J: Share a Dirty Frosty Sundae from Frosty’s to top the night off. A: Alfredo pizza, breadsticks, and nachos from Frosty’s have my heart. Add in garlic and cheese sauce and you have the recipe for love.
