Special Treats for a Mom that's Sweet

Posted on May 6, 2013

Mother's Day is almost here! Do you need some ideas about how you can show her your love and appreciation? Moms are as unique as their children, so it's a good thing we have lot's to choose from in our area... Let mom rest for the day. Treat her to a picnic lunch at Lincoln State Park for a peaceful afternoon. If you've ever heard her reminisce about "the good old days", take her on a walk at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial and stop at the Living Historical Farm. You can also make a trip to Rockport, Indiana, and tour the Lincoln-era replica cabins at Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum. LPV-_cabin._houses.JPG Is your mom's idea of relaxing soaking up the sun, while lying in a lounge chair? Let her enjoy the day with tickets to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari. Everyone can do their favorite thing there! And if she's a little bit of a daredevil, maybe you can get her in the front seat of one of the world's top wooden roller coasters! How about doing something different, like horseback riding? Santa's Stables offers family-friendly trails and you're sure to end up with great memories. If you'd like to get her the perfect gift, stop in the Holly Tree Christmas Shop or the Santa Claus Christmas Store to pick out something special. You could tell your mom how sweet she is by getting her some handmade confections from Santa's Candy Castle or take her there for a gourmet hot chocolate. If your mom loves the theatre, pick out a meaningful card and include tickets to an upcoming show at Lincoln Amphitheatre. If you still aren't sure what to do, visit our website for more information about all the activities in Spencer County: www.SantaClausInd.org or www.IndianasAbeLincoln.org. Your mom will appreciate the thought you put into her gift!
