Well, we’ve reached the end of National Travel and Tourism Week and Visit Indiana Week. The celebration was a departure from years past due to the health crisis. But its timing coincided with some good news, as well.
Last week, Indiana’s governor announced the plan to “reopen” the state. With the planned phased approach, non-essential businesses have begun to welcome customers back in their stores, restaurants are preparing to open at limited capacity, and a timeline is now in place for when other tourism businesses will start their seasons.
Things will look a little different for our visitors this year. But we’re encouraged and heartened to see that brighter days are indeed on the horizon.
And we’re excited to start welcoming you back to the area!
Plan Now—Travel Soon
Like others across the country, we’ve been feeling the effects of quarantine. It’s disrupted every aspect of our lives. And now that restrictions are lifting, we’re excited at what the coming months will bring.
We know our visitors are excited too. We’ve seen your Facebook comments about what you’re missing about this area. We’ve been touched by the responses to some of our favorite photos on Instagram. And we’ve been happily fulfilling your requests for travel information.
Now, it’s finally time to start planning trips again. When you‘re ready to travel—safely! —we’ll be ready to welcome you to Santa Claus, Indiana, and the sites throughout Lincoln’s Indiana Boyhood Home!
