Celebrating Travel and Tourism

Posted on May 3, 2020

As we kick off National Travel and Tourism Week and Visit Indiana Week, we realize the celebration will look a little different this year due to the current health crisis. It has impacted every aspect of daily life. From the way we learn, to the way we shop, to the way we spend time with family, to the way we’re considering our upcoming vacations and getaways.
Tourist destinations around the world have felt the effects of closing their doors to visitors, canceling or rescheduling events, and planning for a travel season that looks very different to years past.

Spotlight on Hospitality Workers

Our local tourism community needs support and deserves to be celebrated now more than ever. When it’s safe to travel again, these are the individuals who will help make your family’s trip memorable.
That’s why for this year’s tourism celebrations, we’re turning the spotlight on some of the individuals you’ve met (or who’ve worked behind the scenes) during your visits to Santa Claus, Indiana, and the sites throughout Lincoln’s Indiana Boyhood Home.

Show Your Support

All this week, you’ll see features about this area’s hard-working hospitality professionals right here on our blog and on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Show your support by posting a kind comment to let them know you can’t wait until it’s time to visit again!
And in the meantime, let’s remember we’re all #INthistogether and to stay #SpencerCountyStrong!
