Behind the Scenes: Lincoln Pines Lakefront Resort

Posted on June 5, 2017

Having just opened in April of this year, Lincoln Pines Lakefront Resort is still putting a few finishing touches on its property. However, it all looks wonderful already and I can only imagine it will get better. Currently, there are 11 cabins available at the resort. But they’re not done yet! They plan to have 30 – 40 cabins in the next few years. There are three options: one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and one-bedroom with a loft. Each cabin is named after someone or something significant to Abraham Lincoln’s life. In addition, guests will find an interesting story about Mr. Lincoln inside each cabin. The property is lovely. Complete with two lakes, a pool (and splash pad coming soon!), playground, and shelter house area, Lincoln Pines provides a relaxing atmosphere with lots to do on site. Honestly, the swing overlooking the lake was calling my name.   And don’t worry, if you’re staying at Lincoln Pines Lakefront Resort and forgot something, they probably have it in the convenience store inside the main office.

In addition:

There are tons of games for guests to check out at no charge. The selection includes corn hole, volleyball, badminton, giant Jenga, and more. Plus, fishing has already become a popular activity for children visiting the resort. In the future, the owners plan to restore the Lincoln-era cabins on property. They will build a one-mile walking path to mark the different periods along the trail that show the progression of Abraham Lincoln’s childhood in Indiana. We asked one of the owners to name her favorite part of Lincoln Pines Lakefront Resort. She said it's educating their guests about events regarding Abraham Lincoln's live here in Spencer County.  She went on to tell us that it's amazing how excited people are to hear stories about Abe's young life.
