September Things to Do

As summer begins to wrap up and we look toward fall, we are often looking for what to do and where to go. Well, look no further… there are a ton of events going on in the area during September. Check out all the fun to be had in and around Santa Claus, Indiana, and sites throughout Lincoln’s Indiana Boyhood Home.  Here’s a quick list of September Things to Do:  Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra

Live Music 

Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra at Lincoln Amphitheatre Enjoy an evening at Lincoln Amphitheatre where the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing songs of Indiana legends.  Michael Jackson, John Mellencamp, and more! Blues on the Rock  This music festival will showcase blues music from five bands, plus craft beer, food, and a variety of other goods. In addition, the family-friendly event will have inflatables for kids.   St. Meinrad ROCKS! Fest St Meinrad Rocks The benefit event features rock and country musical entertainment by more than 18 acts covering two stages. St. Meinrad ROCKS! Fest also features a beer garden, children’s activities, concessions, and merchandise.   Hard Day’s Night: Beatles Tribute Band Taking audiences back in time, the band performs onstage in character as John, Paul, George, and Ringo while wearing stitch-for-stitch replications of the suits The Beatles made famous.  Pepper’s Ridge Winery AND Monkey Hollow Winery and Distillery Grab a glass of wine or sample a few varieties and enjoy live music at one of our local wineries. The views are remarkable as summer gives way to autumn and the flavors are scrumptious.  

Festivals & Festivities 

Dale Fall Fest Dale Fall FestThis fall festival is the perfect chance to enjoy your favorite fest foods like elephant ears, pronto pups, lemonade shake-ups, and more.   Chrisney Fall Fest  Head over to Chrisney Park for great food, a beer garden, parade, 5K & fun run, kids’ games, rides, live music, and more.   Grandview Fall Festival  The 72nd annual Grandview Fall Festival celebrates 200 years in Spencer County. Enjoy a 5K run/walk, parade, a cruise-in, and so much more. Don’t miss the famous chicken-and-dumplings. Bluff City Pow Wow Help celebrate the Native American culture at the 14th annual Bluff City Pow Wow with two days of activities like drumming, flute playing, crafts, storytelling, food vendors, and special dances.

Enjoy the Outdoors 

Outdoor Adventure at Santa’s Lodge Zip across the lake, climb a rock wall on site, flip in the air on the bungee trampoline, and meander around the lake via paddleboat. All of these activities are part of the Outdoor adventure package at Santa’s Lodge.   Honest Abe Trail Runhonest abe trail runThe environmentally-friendly race loops through the park on double-track trails inside Lincoln State Park. Enjoy the spectacular views as fall begins to take over the scenic landscape throughout the wooded trails.  

Kick Start the Halloween Season 

Halloween Weekends at Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort This seasonal favorite kicks off the weekend of September 14 and 15, 2018. From site decorating and costume contests to Rudy’s kid carnival, bonfire ghost stories, haunted hayrides, and more, Halloween Weekends are the perfect way to kick off fall.   Happy Halloween Weekends at Holiday World Take advantage of fall fun for the entire family with the main attractions you love at Holiday World, plus tons of fall-themed extras. From corn mazes, pumpkin funnel cakes, and more, Happy Halloween Weekends offers tons of fall fun.  Kid’s Days All ages can experience pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, hayrides, games, and much more, during Kid’s Days during the fall season.
