Camping is as much of an adventure and activity as it is a spot to sleep under the stars. Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort has tons of activities on site including golf cart parades, movie nights, and even mini-golf!

Camping at Lincoln State Park is another option. With peaceful, scenic views and tons of recreational activities, families can rent paddle boats, go fishing, and hike along the trails.

What should you do?

Take a walk through Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, and appreciate the fact that you are walking in the same woods a young Abe Lincoln lived in from 1816 to 1830. The whole family will love seeing farm animals on the Living Historical Farm. You might even learn something new at the museum inside the Visitor Center.

You definitely don’t want to miss all history related to Abraham Lincoln history at the Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum. Tour 13 Lincoln era cabins, and visit the museum housing hundreds of artifacts.  Generations of Fun

Visit the Santa Claus Museum & Village to learn the fascinating history behind Santa Claus, Indiana. Let the kids write letters to Santa in the original Santa Claus Post Office. They’ll even receive a response in the mail, a tradition that dates back to the 1920s.

At Santa’s Candy Castle your grandparents might find a favorite candy from their childhood. Everyone with the slightest sweet tooth will want to taste the delicious frozen hot chocolate!

After all those activities, everyone will need a souvenir to remember your special family vacation. Visit Evergreen Boutique & Christmas Shop and the gigantic Santa Claus Christmas Store to find the perfect ornament, and get it personalized for free! Where should you eat?

The Chateau is a local favorite, but it’s great for visiting families, too. Sitting just outside of Santa Claus, Indiana, this restaurant offers home cooked meals and an amazing salad bar. Everyone will find something they love!

St. Nick’s Restaurant inside Santa’s Lodge offers a breakfast buffet daily from Memorial Day through August, and weekends, September through Christmas. They also have a dinner buffet available Memorial Day through August, and visitors can order off the menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner any time of the year.

Pizza is always a crowd pleaser, and you can get an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet at Brick Oven Pizza and Frosty’s Fun Center in Santa Claus.  At Frosty’s Fun Center, your kids will be delighted by the infamous melting snowman. In addition to their tasty specialty pizzas, your family can feast on breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the themed restaurant.
