Can’t Miss October Weekends

October in Santa Claus, Indiana, and sites throughout Lincoln's Indiana Boyhood Home offer endless opportunities for Family Fall-O-Weekends and perfect weather for outdoor activities. Below are some highlights in October, listed by each weekend. 

October 6 – 7, 2018:

Saturday – The first Brew Ho Ho Run will take place at Yellig Park. A fall 5K plus some local craft beer is sure to be a good way to spend the morning. Saturday – Starting at noon, the Spencer County Octoberfest is a day full of fall fun!  Activities include a free pumpkin for every child, scarecrow stuffing competition, a field of inflatables, and more.

October 13 – 14, 2018:

Saturday – The Friends Fall Frolic at Lincoln State Park will have a variety of crafts and games for children of all ages to enjoy. This event will be held October 13, 2018, and October 20, 2018. Saturday – It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus… or is it? The Lincoln Amphitheatre will be hosting a special movie night in the spirit of fall weather and Halloween activities! Saturday and Sunday – Bucket List Goals: Taste one of Indiana’s largest apple pies. This can be checked off your list at the Mt. Zion’s 38th annual Applefest.

October 20 – 21, 2018:

Saturday – If you missed the Friends Fall Frolic last week this is your chance to explore Lincoln State Park and enjoy crafts and games all day! Saturday – The harvest is over, and it’s time to celebrate with wine and good company! Join Monkey Hollow Winery and Distillery for the annual Harvest Party. In addition to complimentary wine samples and free snacks and apps, enjoy live musical entertainment all day and admission is free!

October 27 – 28, 2018:

Saturday – Headless Horseman, lantern-lit reading, ghost story... you don’t want to miss this event! Storyteller Susan Fowler will read “All Hallows’ Eve” at 7:00 pm CT. Saturday and Sunday – The Fall Heritage Days Rendezvous at Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum features candle making for kids, trunk-or-treating, music, food, a visit with President Lincoln and Young Abe Lincoln, and more.

Every Weekend:

Fridays and Saturdays – Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort presents Halloween Weekends on Fridays and Saturdays. Activities include site decorating, bonfire ghost stories, haunted hayrides, and more. Saturdays and Sundays – Happy Halloween Weekends at Holiday World is fall fun for the whole family. Enjoy the main attractions you love, plus tons of fall-themed extras! Explore 12 acres of corn mazes and excite your taste buds with a pumpkin funnel cake. [caption id="attachment_9619" align="alignnone" width="600"] George the Eagle, Safari Sam, Kitty Claws and Holidog - dressed for Halloween![/caption] Saturdays – Live music at Monkey Hollow Winery and Distillery and Pepper’s Ridge Winery every Saturday! Sundays – For fun activities for the entire family during the fall stop by Pumpkins and More Farm Market for Kid’s Days.   There's definitely a lot going on.
