Can You Find the Elves?

Posted on July 27, 2015

A guest blog post from Leah Patton, an intern at Santa Claus Museum & Village. The Santa Claus Museum & Village, in partnership with the Spencer County Visitors Bureau, is hosting a scavenger hunt on Wednesday, July 29,, 2015, from 8:00 -10:00 am CST. The Elf Scavenger Hunt will have you searching inside the museum, around the grounds, and throughout the historic buildings in order to locate small hidden elves. As you locate each elf, you’ll have to answer a question on your scavenger hunt sheet. If you can find all the elves and answer all the questions, you can turn in the sheet and choose a prize. The Spencer County Visitors Bureau will also be on site to highlight some of the other fun activities available in Spencer County, Indiana, this summer. There may even be goodie bags! The 1880 historic Santa Claus Church will be open for visitors… and may be hiding an elf or two. And the giant Santa Claus Statue (it stands twenty two feet tall!) could be a perfect place for an elf to hang around. The elves might even be writing a letter to Santa in the Original Santa Claus Post Office; make sure to search in there and write a free letter of your own. As you’re looking around the museum, you’ll be able to learn about the history of Santa Claus, Indiana, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, and Santa Jim Yellig.  There’s even a display featuring letters sent to Santa Claus that date back to the 1930s. Each year, some of our very own elves help Santa answer every letter that comes to town. It’s very likely a few small elves will be hiding in the exhibits. We hope you will join us on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, anytime time between 8:00 and 10:00 am CST for lots of fun while traveling through the history of Santa Claus, Indiana!
